When you think about most of the major moments in your life, wouldn’t you agree that freshly cut flowers have been a part of that day. We use them to celebrate precious moments, such as the arrival or a new life, or a new love blossoming. We also share them in moment of grief to comfort those left behind.
While it’s amazing to receive a beautiful bouquet of flowers delivered to your front door on Valentines Day, I personally feel that flowers should be a part of our everyday life, not just the extraordinary moments. Life itself is a extraordinary, the fact that you woke up this morning is something to be celebrated. Flowers, have a way of making everything better.
THEY MAKE YOUR HOME SMELL GOOD
You can forget all about spending money on nasty chemicals that are designed to imitate the smells of nature. Nothing is ever quite as good as the original though. Flowers have their own natural fragrance. They not only neutralise odours in your home, but also gives the air in your home that “outside” freshness.
FLOWERS BRING LIFE INTO A ROOM
Adding a lovely bunch of flowers, can make any room feel more alive. The vibrant colours can change the mood of a room, and turn the ordinary into something special. They are also an inexpensive way to add colour to a room, or to change seasonal decor.
FRESH FLOWERS MAKE US FEEL GOOD
Have you ever noticed, that when you are around beautiful blossoms, you feel pretty great. The sweet smell of a blossom can remind us of happy spring days as a child. The glimpse of a rose can transport you back to your wedding day. On a dark and rainy day, they can be a reminder that the sun will come out again soon.
SHOW SOME PERSONALITY
With so many different types to choose from, there is literally a flower for every mood and personality. Flowers are a creative way to allow your personality to shine through in a very subtle way.
THEY ARE GOOD FOR OUR HEALTH
The research is in. Studies have reported that patients in hospital who have flowers in their room, require less pain medication. They are also less tired and anxious, have lower blood pressure, and they generally have a more positive outlook. It’s also been noted that people who have flowers in their homes, tend to be in better moods. If a bouquet of flowers beside a hospital bed can do so much good, there has to also be benefits to having them in your home.
You can find flowers everywhere and anywhere, but I personally prefer to shop for flowers online. Living in a small town means it’s harder for me to find the flowers I like. The online stores tend to have a better range, and more affordable prices.
